Terms of Service
Last updated: October 30, 2026
Draft for attorney review before public launch. These terms are a starting template written in plain language; they have not yet been reviewed by a licensed attorney.
1. What Diwara is
Diwara is a family location-sharing app for iPhone. Members of a private group (a "Circle") can see each other's locations, receive arrival and departure alerts for saved places, send check-ins, and send SOS alerts to their Circle.
2. Not an emergency service
Diwara is not a substitute for emergency services. SOS alerts go to your Circle members through the app; they are not sent to police, fire, or medical services. In an emergency, always call 911 (or your local emergency number) first. Location accuracy depends on your device, signal, and settings; Diwara does not guarantee that a location, alert, or notification will be exact, immediate, or delivered.
3. Accounts and Circles
- You must be 13 or older to use Diwara, and Circles are organized by an account holder.
- You are responsible for your account and for who you invite to your Circles. An invite code is a key: anyone who has it can join that Circle and see member locations.
- Only share your location with people you trust, and only join Circles whose members you know. You can pause sharing, leave a Circle, or delete your account at any time.
- Do not use Diwara to track any person without their knowledge and consent. Doing so may violate the law and will result in account termination.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse Diwara: no unauthorized access to other accounts or data, no attempting to bypass Circle membership checks, no reverse engineering except where the law permits it, no using the service to harass, stalk, or harm anyone, and no interfering with the operation of the service.
5. Subscriptions
- Diwara Premium is an auto-renewing subscription billed through your Apple ID, priced per Circle (monthly or yearly, as shown in the app before purchase). A free trial, if offered, converts to a paid subscription unless cancelled before the trial ends.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, in iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store's policies.
- If a Premium subscription lapses, the Circle returns to the free plan (including its 2-day history retention) at the end of the paid period.
6. Your data
How we collect, use, retain, and delete data is described in the Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms. Deleting your account permanently deletes your data as described there.
7. Service availability
We work to keep Diwara running, but the service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We may change or discontinue features; if we ever shut the service down, we will give reasonable notice in the app and a way to delete your data.
8. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Diwara and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the service, including reliance on any location, alert, or notification. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
9. Changes and contact
We may update these terms; material changes will be announced in the app before they take effect. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept them. Questions: support@diwara.app.
